Sheraton Mirage Country Club Golf Course
The one that started it all! Developed by the infamous Christopher Skase and designed by British Open winner Peter Thomson together with renowned architect Michael Wolveridge, since its public opening in 1987 the Mirage Resort and Country Club has been touted by many as transforming Port Douglas “from a sleepy far-north Queensland seaside town into a sophisticated tropical playground for the rich and famous.”
Considered the gold standard by passionate golfers, Mirage Country Club’s 6200 metre course is made up of 6 x par threes, 6 x par fours and 6 x par fives. Bordering Port Douglas’ Four Mile Beach on one side with a panoramic mountain backdrop on the other, Mirage Country Club entices with an undeniably picturesque landscape while you play!
You can get your hands on all the golfing equipment you need to purchase or hire from the Mirage Country Club’s pro shop. The Mirage Country Club also offer access to professional golf instructors for lessons and tips and the course holds practice putting greens and bunkers.
Additional amenities include a 24/7 gym, 25 metre Lap Pool, 3 Tennis courts, Golf Pro Shop and the well-respected Oasis Bar to satisfy any well-earned hunger and thirst post-putt!
Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course
Ranked among Australia’s top 100 courses and designed by Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett, Palmer Sea Reef Gold Course (Australia’s only tropical links style golf course) was a welcome addition to Port Douglas in the year 2000, offering an alternative to the Mirage Golf Course at the other end of town.
The 6135 metre course boasts 3 differing teeing grounds to accommodate golfers of varying abilities.
The facility has an extensively stocked golf shop for all golfing equipment along with club and shoe hire. There is also a driving range and practice putting and chipping green on site and you can book lessons on request.
Over at Palmer Sea Reef, they also have a magnificent function room to hold your social or business function. They can cater for a range of functions whether it be an intimate dinner party on the deck overlooking the green or a Staff Christmas Party in the Sea Reef Room with sweeping views of the course and surrounding ranges.
The Clubhouse serves Breakfast and Lunch from 9am til 2pm daily, encapsulating mountain views and ocean breeze while you dine.
